Teamleader – Energy conversion

Oilfree air division has set the aim to develop products that will decarbonize the utility room. Technologies now become available to convert waste heat back into valuable energy. The field of carbon reduction through innovative products and solutions is very active and to support our growth we are looking for a Teamleader energy conversion in Oilfree Air product company Antwerp.

The teamleader will lead the R&D activities on heat to power and expanders for energy recuperation. The product strategy on heat to power consists of ORC machines, energy recovery, heatpumps and adsorption chillers. This role reports to the vice president emerging energy conversion and will be an active member of the Oil-free Air engineering team working towards a seamless interaction with the other engineering teams, marketing and operations.

 

Since this a new position, a first step consists of building the team in Antwerp. A strong cooperation with Gecia, other development teams of the division and external partners is key. The product development itself will require strong analytical skills and a clear product development structure with modularity as fundament to create cost effective solutions. A digital twin with data from production and feedback from the field will reinforce the capabilities on numerical simulation and lead to improved time-to-market. Tools that support the sales team will also come from these models. Installations for testing have to be constructed and you will also look outside the PC for opportunities to validate the solutions.

 

Specific duties include

 

  • Responsible for the R&D activities in the dedicated domain. Initiate and approve new R&D projects and investigations in the dedicated domain.
  • To develop technical leadership in the dedicated domains through a structured work with innovation and development of base technologies.
  • To ensure strong teamwork with manufacturing, service and sourcing in the division.
  • Responsible for effective and efficient processes and working methods in your domain.
  • Responsible for quality of the technical part of the proposals in these domains and the quality of the products deliver.
  • Networking within the Atlas R&D structures as well as using of synergies.
  • Open to cooperation with 3rd parties who can support the R&D activities in the dedicated domain.

 

What we expect of you?

Experience requirements

 

  • The successful candidate has minimum 10 years experience in product development and solid experience from previous strategic R&D leadership roles.
  • Excellent technical abilities as well as a strong drive to develop further the business in several dimensions are a must.
  • You are able to build a structure, working with and promoting continuous improvements and innovations across all operational areas.
  • In this role you need the experience in handling and leading advanced technical and complex projects.

 

Educational requirements

 

  • You have a technical university degree or similar. Fluent in English is a requirement.

  • In this role you need strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • You are collaborative, open-minded, resourceful and entrepreneurial.
