Embedded Software Developer

The Role

• Become part of an extensive and passionate team that is active in connectivity, 4G LPWA network infrastructure, Internet of Things, condition monitoring, data mining, IT-architecture, operations, business development, who are turning current connectivity solutions into new business models and working on the next generation IoT platform.
• The IoT connectivity team is seeking an enthusiastic and talented embedded software developer to help innovate, design, and deploy the firmware on our IoT connected devices. As a member of our team, you will work on highly innovative projects that directly impact on our way of servicing equipment worldwide. You will work with senior developers, testers, data analyst, IoT architects and RF experts to create new products and functions. Each project may be different with new challenges and something new to learn.

What we expect of you?

• The team mainly develops in C language, but there are tasks where you will need to code in C++, Python, Java and know embedded Linux (Yocto & Legato), Modbus RTU,TCP/IP and CAN bus. Experience with connected devices in 2G, 3G, 4G, LPWA, WiFi, Bluetooth or LAN is an advantage. To test properly the functions developed, the unit test will be merged in Jenkins with the Test Engineer. To collaborate, track and document the progress, the basic principles of Agile have no secrets for you.
• The team is composed by international experts, we are growing fast in Atlas Copco Group. We are mainly located in Belgium-Antwerp, but we collaborate with teams and partners in all the continents. Effective communication skills in English, especially intercultural communication, is required.

• Within a product development team, you will work in an international and multidisciplinary environment. You will work together with specialists from different disciplines like embedded software developers, software test engineers, hardware developers, non-cellular technology experts, product managers, network providers and suppliers of modem, gateway, antenna… on complex problems and challenging products.
